Why is it important to recycle?
We're glad you asked.

By recycling we save money, energy, open space, water, trees and other raw materials.

Did you know that recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees, 6953 gallons of water, 463 gallons of oil and 3 cubic yards of landfill space? That's what's involved in turning the raw material of wood into paper!

By sending less of your household or business waste to the landfill...you save landfill space...it costs millions of dollars to construct and maintain landfills.

Recycling saves money and creates jobs...the recycling and remanufacturing process creates about one million jobs in America and $236 billion in annual revenue.

Recycled materials take less energy to remanufacture. Recycled aluminum takes 95% less energy to make than new aluminum from bauxite ore!

If every family and business recycled all recyclables, trash going into the landfill would reduce by 75% in weight.

Not to mention, it's a great thing to do for the community!
